About Us
Our Heritage
ADDiTEC was founded in 2015 with a clear goal: make metal additive manufacturing more accessible through smaller, more cost-effective systems.
That vision led to the development of our multi-laser Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology, patented in 2017. The ADDiTEC Module followed in 2018, along with the uPrinter in 2019. Our multi-laser architecture reduced costs while providing greater flexibility through coaxial wire and powder deposition.
Following successful technology trials and growing customer demand, ADDiTEC co-founded Meltio in May 2019 to manufacture metal 3D-printing systems powered by our patented technology. We contributed the technology, expertise, experience, and resources needed to help build the Meltio brand. Today, ADDiTEC remains Meltio’s largest single shareholder.
In 2023, ADDiTEC returned its focus to developing high-performance metal additive manufacturing technologies for production applications, large-scale components, and a broader range of materials.
More recently, we acquired Xerox Corporation’s liquid metal printing division, establishing ADDiTEC’s Liquid Metal Jetting (LMJ) division and further expanding our technology portfolio. The acquisition also added advanced material science, testing, and characterization capabilities—strengthening our ability to provide customers with complete, end-to-end manufacturing solutions.
